Hilton opens its doors to non-profit in support of FREE cancer caregivers conferences in Phoenix.

Phoenix, Ariz. – April 9, 2018 — Fact is over 800,000 family and friends including children are cancer caregivers to the estimated 38,000 Arizonians diagnosed with cancer annually.

Arizona Myeloma Network, (AZMN) is the only 501c3 nonprofit organization that regularly delivers FREE to the public quality interactive Cancer Caregivers Conferences.

“Anyone caring for a cancer patient knows the level of effort it takes to manage and perform their new “role” well.  Often these caregivers have no formal training and struggle to stay “well” themselves as they balance the cancer patients needs with their other responsibilities”, said Barbara Kavanagh, President and CEO of AZMN. Kavanagh is the caregiver for her husband, Jack who received a Myeloma diagnosis 26 years ago.

Although the immediate family is usually in the caregiver position, virtually everyone surrounding the caregiver will be affected due to the stress, anxiety and physical absence from work, home and social life that is caused by caregiving.

Thousands of Cancer caregivers learn how to provide the best in cancer patient care because they attend AZMN’s Cancer Caregivers Education Program™(CCEP®) Conferences. Attendees meet local resources providing financial support, insurance, research and clinical trials, respite assistance and personal wellness.

Public financial support and Corporate sponsors are essential to continue helping cancer caregivers thrive. Your donation has an immediate and positive impact on cancer caregivers, their families and those they care for.

“Cancer Caregivers are finally being recognized as critical to improving cancer patient outcomes “, said Kavanagh.
