[May 4, 2016 – Chandler, AZ] Arizona Myeloma Network, one of the country’s top-rated nonprofits by Great Nonprofits is hosting its popular Outrace Cancer Charity Fundraiser Timed 5K and Family fun Run/Walk on Saturday, June 4th. Barbara Kavanagh, Founder, President and CEO said, “We believe no cancer patient or cancer caregiver should have to pay to learn about cancer. That is why our Out Race Cancer fundraiser is critical to raising cancer awareness and funds”. In Arizona there are over 27,000 new cancer incidences reported annually, according to the National Center Institute CDC State Cancer Profile. Mrs. Kavanagh states, “Outrace cancer is a great opportunity for everyone to help raise awareness and support for ALL cancer patients and cancer caregivers.” Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to participate in the event, which takes place at the Bondurant Racing School located at 20000 S. “Outrace Cancer is a family event and cancer invades the entire family”, says Mrs. Kavanagh who knows because she is a 25 year cancer caregiver.

“We are especially grateful to our business community partners and sponsors for helping us put on this event,” said Mrs. Kavanagh. “The more money we raise, the more live face-to-face educational outreach we do to increase the quality of life for people impacted by all kinds of cancer in our communities.”
